The Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Programs consists of three main stages of development for students: the Fundamentals Program, the Advanced Program and the Black Belt Program. These stages indicate different maturity levels, and students upgrade from one to the other in their own natural progression.
Gracie Barra Tyler’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Programs give you principles to help you fight the daily battles of life, like weight loss, stress, relationship issues, and self-confidence. Our Brazilian jiu-jitsu programs help you learn how to think through problems more constructively than you did previously, on and off the mats.

Children’s Future Champions Program
To excel in any endeavor, an individual must possess a strong set of values and a solid character to give him or her the perseverance to achieve his or her goals set. The Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program called Future Champions provides children ages 3-15 with an environment that gives them the experience and understanding of core values like focus, discipline, persistence, cooperation and respect.
The Gracie Barra Brazilian jiu-jitsu Future Champions Program provides a very challenging, yet safe and caring environment for a child to mature towards a real life champion. The outcome of continued childhood practice of Gracie Barra Brazilian jiu-jitsu goes far beyond the accomplishments on the mats. The discipline and excellence demanded by our instructors often carries over to the child’s behavior at home and at school.
Our Future Champions Program is subdivided in three different groups to accommodate students of different ages and skill levels:
- Little Champions I (3-6 years old),
- Little Champions II (7-9 years old)
- Juniors & Teens (10-14 years old)
Gracie Barra Tyler Future Champions Jiu-Jitsu Classes
The first time you come to our school, you will be welcomed by our staff. Please arrive 15 minutes before class so you and your child have enough time to prepare for practice. We always begin class on time, and your child will be asked to walk to the training area where the instructor will be waiting for him or her. One of the assistant instructors or a senior student will be assigned as a helper to assist your child in performing the drills and activities. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch the entire practice.

Aside from all classes offered in the Adults Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Programs, our school offers a set of classes designed to introduce women to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
As a martial art designed to allow the weaker to defeat the stronger, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a perfect fit for women who are interested in learning how to protect themselves. Who wouldn’t be, right?
The Gracie Barra Women’s Program combines a comprehensive self-defense curriculum with emphasis on drills that simulate realistic attack and escape situations.
The techniques are complemented by a strong fitness component that is second to none compared to classes offered in regular gyms.
Classes specially designed for women like Rape Prevention, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Conditioning and social “get togethers” are added benefits to the ordinary Gracie Barra activities and create a strong bond between the members of the “Gracie Barra Pink Team.”

You’ll notice a very positive and friendly environment when you enter our school. Although martial arts can be intimidating for women, this class is definitely not intimidating. You will find a group of girls, some of them wearing a pink Gracie Barra uniform, who are excited to be there and excited to have you there. The instructor will run several basic drills and after a few classes you will catch up with the rest of the group. Once you master the basics you will really enjoy the intensity of a class based on effective self-defense techniques and real life scenarios.
The Gracie Barra Tyler Fundamentals Program teaches the basic principles of effective fighting, and anyone can learn. Students experience results that go beyond gains in strength, flexibility, fitness or self-defense skills.

Gracie Barra Tyler Fundamentals Jiu-Jitsu Classes
Our Fundamentals class routines are always similar, and our instructors prepare precise plans for every class. The routine will be the same, but the techniques you learn will be different. We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before schedule, as we always begin class on time.
In our Fundamentals classes, you’ll be welcomed by a strong support group, consisting of your peers and your instructors, who are dedicated to your progression through the Brazilian jiu-jitsu programs. At the end of each class, you will be physically tired, but mentally exhilarated. You will never forget your first class at Gracie Barra!
Don’t get too exhausted, though — we hope to see you back the next day! Remember, you can train as much as you want.
While the Fundamentals Program focuses on the building blocks and basic principles of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, the Advanced Program is built on high-level techniques and drills that start shaping the students’ game flow through the development of reflexes, speed and reaction time, as well as transitions between one technique and another.
After a few months in the Gracie Barra Tyler Advanced Program, students typically experience a deeper involvement in the Gracie Barra philosophy, a stronger bond with training partners, and more discipline and commitment to healthy habits that keep them in good shape.
Gracie Barra Tyler Advanced Jiu-Jitsu Classes
As a new student or someone who is moving up from Gracie Barra Tyler’s Fundamentals Program, you’ll find the Gracie Barra Tyler’s Advanced Classes are perfect for taking your jiu-jitsu to the next level.
The Advanced Program classes are based on a defined class structure and curriculum that take a broad and open-minded approach, incorporating techniques from different grappling styles like wrestling, judo, sambo, and, of course, Gracie Barra Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
At the end of classes, you’ll engage in live training drills that are exciting and fun. Every training partner will present you with a unique challenge that requires strategic thinking to effectively deal with it.

Black Belt Program
The Gracie Barra Tyler Black Belt Program is the final program in Gracie Barra’s adult program structure. While it does represent the student’s arrival at the ultimate level of training in our school, it also represents a new beginning.
Gracie Barra Tyler’s Black Belt Program students are role models at our school. The responsibility of sharing Gracie Barra Brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques and training philosophy with newer students is taken seriously. Our black belt students play a key role in maintaining a safe, friendly and progress-oriented environment at our school.
Gracie Barra Tyler Black Belt Jiu-Jitsu Classes
The Gracie Barra Tyler Black Belt Program classes further develop students’ Brazilian jiu-jitsu game flow by exposing them to cutting edge jiu-jitsu techniques and technique variations. When you enroll in black belt classes, you can be sure of one thing: you will train a lot!
Our dynamic curriculum and classes, followed by hour-long live training sessions, build a challenging, yet safe environment for students to progress from blue belts to black belts. Practice typically lasts two hours, and although you are welcome to rest or leave early if you feel like it, our instructors will encourage you to stay until the end of the class.
It is in the Gracie Barra Tyler Black Belt Program that students truly grasp what jiu-jitsu is: an endless journey of daily accomplishments that always lead to new challenges. Arm-bars, triangle chokes, fireman carries, Kimuras, sweeps, guard passes and single leg take downs take on new meaning in our Black Belt Program. The No-Gi classes also add an extra element of challenge and helps students improve balance and control, enhancing their overall skills.

Private Training Program
Can a Jiu-Jitsu student learn more and learn faster? Is it beneficial to have one-on-one time with my instructor?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is like any other sport or activity: your progress is a consequence of how hard and how smart you work. Group classes are the best proven way to teach Jiu-Jitsu, since the diversity of training partners creates more and different challenges allowing a student to improve more quickly. However, private classes are definitely an essential complement that no serious Jiu-Jitsu student should do without.
The individual attention and approach that a 30- or 60-minute session with one of our instructors provides can and does lead to significant improvement in a student’s Jiu-Jitsu game flow.
It is highly recommended that all students take at least one private lesson per month to review techniques and address specific challenges in his or her BJJ game flow.
